These Furling Fern sterling silver drop earrings by Independent Artisans resemble delicate ferns just unfurling their fronds. Crafted in a spiral shape with a polished finish, these earrings embody Balinese culture and contemporary elegance. The design reflects a lifelong passion for silversmithing and a commitment to carrying forward a family's artistic legacy. These earrings are a beautiful and organic piece of jewelry that adds a touch of nature-inspired elegance to any look.
Born in Celuk, Bali in 1972, this silversmith grew up in a family where artistry was both heritage and livelihood. His father was a silver craftsman, his mother a teacher, and by primary school he was already helping in the workshop. Though he earned an architecture degree, his passion for silver ultimately guided his path, and by age 27 he had committed fully to jewelry-making. Today, he leads a large workshop of 45 artisans, designing each piece with the support of his wife. Using sterling silver, gemstones, and pearls, his creations embody Balinese culture while reflecting contemporary elegance. Inspired by daily life and traditions, he carries forward his family’s artistic legacy with pride. For him, jewelry is not only a craft but a way of life, rooted in heritage, family, and creativity.
Crafted in Indonesia from 925 sterling silver with a high-polish finish. The hook earrings measure 1.2 inches long by 1 inch deep and weigh 0.25 ounces.
