This 'Eco Spiral in Twilight' bracelet by Independent Artisans is more than just an accessory—it's a symbol of hope and community resilience. Crafted by the dedicated youth of Asociación ADISA, an organization committed to empowering people with disabilities, this bracelet embodies a beautiful mission. The unique spiral links are formed from tightly wound recycled paper, creating an earthy, textured foundation, while iridescent glass beads add a touch of shimmering contrast. The toggle clasp ensures a secure and stylish fit. This piece is a powerful reminder that purpose can be found in even the most unexpected places and that discarded materials can be transformed into something both beautiful and impactful. Each bracelet purchased supports meaningful employment and dignity for young artisans in Guatemala.
Asociación ADISA was founded in 1997 by Francisco Sojuel and María Argentina Figueroa, inspired by the life of their daughter, Nyla Eliza, who was born with hydrocephaly and later passed away at age seven. Determined to transform their grief into purpose, they created a community for parents and children with disabilities in Santiago Atitlán. What began as small weekend gatherings has grown into a respected organization offering special education, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and skills training. Over the years, ADISA has developed innovative recycling projects, including crafts made from glass and newspaper, providing meaningful employment and income for young people with disabilities. Guided by love, resilience, and a belief in inclusion, the association empowers families to overcome social stigma and offers opportunities for dignity and independence. Each handcrafted piece reflects not only creativity but also a powerful commitment to community and hope.
This bracelet is handcrafted from recycled paper, glass beads, and cotton thread with a toggle clasp. The piece measures 7.5 to 8 inches in adjustable length with a 1 inch width. The piece weighs 0.39 oz. Please note that as a hand-crafted item, the color, size, and/or motif may vary slightly. The recycled materials may also vary slightly in color and/or pattern. Made in Guatemala.
