Balinese artisan Nyoman Sukartini has been immersed in tradition and artistry since childhood. Raised by a mother who instilled in her the values of devotion to family, faith, and community, she also learned practical and cultural skills, from cooking to preparing ceremonial offerings. At 16, she pursued formal training at Sekolah Menengah Industri Kerajinan (SMIK) in Gianyar, where she studied crafts including batik and ceramics before apprenticing with a silversmith. Jewelry soon became her chosen medium of expression. Today, she collaborates with local artisans to create sterling silver jewelry that honors Bali’s cultural beauty while incorporating both traditional and modern designs. Each piece reflects her heritage as well as her creativity, offering wearers a connection to Bali’s artistry. Nyoman sees her craft not only as design but as a way of sharing her culture with the world and uplifting her artisan community.

Handcrafted from sterling silver, cultured freshwater pearl, and garnet with a high-polish finish, these hook earrings weigh 0.13 oz. They measure 1.8 inches L x 0.3 inches W x 0.1 inches D. The natural stone may have variations in color and/or pattern.
