Born in Guatemala in 1980, this silversmith grew up immersed in the traditions of his grandparents, who founded the first jewelry factory in their town. His earliest work, a Maya bracelet featuring quetzal birds crafted at age 11, set the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of artistry. Guided by his grandmother after his father’s passing, he refined his skills and began selling his own designs in 2000. Today, he crafts jewelry from gold, silver, copper, and jade, honoring both Maya heritage and family legacy. Using techniques preserved for more than fifty years, he creates intricate pieces without machines, each resonating with cultural authenticity. Supported by his wife and inspired by history, he dreams of expanding his workshop and passing the art to his daughter. His work is a tribute to Guatemala’s enduring traditions.
