A descendant of the Ga Mashie royal family, Tina Naa Larmley Quaye was born in Ghana in 1970. Drawn to color and creativity, she first trained in auto-spraying and textiles before dedicating herself to bead jewelry. Her art is deeply intertwined with her mission: in 1996 she founded Children In Need, a program teaching traditional beadmaking to underprivileged children. For Tina, beadwork is more than adornment—it is a way to preserve Ghana’s cultural traditions while empowering the next generation with skills and opportunity. She combines copper tubes, glass, and traditional African beads into jewelry that embodies both artistry and heritage. Teaching has always been her dream, and today she fulfills it by guiding children in creativity and self-sufficiency. Her work reflects a life of resilience, generosity, and passion for passing on tradition.
