These 'Young Romance' by Independent Artisans are a beautiful pair of dangle earrings. Designed by Made Sudiari, two dolphins touch noses, forming a heart with their bodies. The Balinese artisan handcrafts each dolphin from polished sterling silver, suspending a single topaz gemstone from each heart motif. The piece is a beautiful reflection of Bali's deep artisanal heritage.
Born in Bali, Made Sudiari grew up in a community where jewelry-making was part of daily life. Though her parents were farmers, she and her siblings helped neighbors craft silver jewelry to pay for school. By sixth grade, she was already creating her own designs. Known for her quiet determination, she built her career while raising two children, often working late at night after caring for her family. Together with her husband, children, and a small team of artisans, she now creates jewelry using traditional tools and techniques. Sterling silver, gold, and gemstones form the foundation of her work, which reflects Bali’s deep artisanal heritage. For Made, jewelry-making is both livelihood and legacy, a way to ensure her children’s future while honoring the traditions of her homeland.
These earrings are crafted from 925 sterling silver and blue topaz with a high-polish finish. They feature hook earrings and measure 1.8 inches H x 0.9 inches W x 0.2 inches D. They weigh 0.25 ounces.
