Mexican jewelry designer Ángel Ortiz inherited his love of silver from his mother and has honed his craft since 1986, studying at UNAM’s School of Fine Art and working in the renowned silver city of Taxco. His designs draw inspiration from Mexican culture, nature, and the people he loves, blending traditional silversmithing with contemporary techniques. While silver remains his foundation, he also experiments with copper, tumbaga (a pre-Hispanic gold-copper alloy), alpaca, crystals, seeds, and leather. Today, Ortiz is dedicated to creating collections that raise awareness of endangered species, combining artistry with environmental advocacy. For him, jewelry is both a cultural legacy and a call to action. Living and working in Mexico City, he trains apprentices and cultivates a new generation of artisans, ensuring the craft endures. Passionate, reflective, and deeply committed to his community, Ortiz sees each piece as a balance between trend and tradition—a way to preserve Mexico’s artistic heritage while speaking to the future.

This bracelet is crafted from 925 sterling silver, glass beads, and elastic cord with a high-polish finish. It measures between 6.8 and 7.5 inches long.
