These Amethyst and Sterling Silver Peafowl Dangle Earrings 'Merak' are a beautiful piece by Kenari. The elegant merak, or Java peafowl, poses gracefully with a shimmering pear-faceted amethyst nestled within its body. An intricate swirling tail cascades down. This piece is inspired by the beautiful birds of Java, and it captures the magnificence of these gentle creatures in sterling silver.
Kenari, born in 1979 in Celuk, Bali’s renowned village of gold and silversmiths, grew up surrounded by the artistry of her family. From a young age she assisted her uncle in the workshop, mastering techniques in crafting rings, necklaces, and bracelets. Though her marriage took her to Gianyar, her passion for jewelry never waned, and with her husband’s support she continued developing her own designs. Today, she leads a workshop where highly skilled Balinese artisans, known as tukang, bring her intricate creations to life entirely by hand. Known for her dedication and precision, Kenari infuses each piece with creativity and perseverance, balancing tradition with innovation. Her collections embody both her family’s legacy and her personal vision, ensuring Balinese silver artistry continues to flourish for future generations.
