These 'Lanterns of Life' drop earrings by Dewa Nyoman Oka are a serene and beautiful accessory. The earrings resemble little lanterns and feature gorgeous white cultured pearls, which symbolize innocence and beauty. Crafted from 18k gold-plated brass, the polished finish creates a radiant look. This piece is a bridge between past and present, blending traditional Balinese motifs with a contemporary expression, and carrying forward the richness of Balinese art and culture.
Born in Pejeng, Gianyar in 1958, the designer grew up immersed in Bali’s cultural heritage, surrounded by ancient temples and traditions that continue to inspire his artistry today. Guided by his father, a healer and multi-talented artist, he learned to draw, sculpt, and design from an early age. After a career as a teacher, he dedicated himself fully to jewelry design, blending traditional Balinese motifs and architecture with contemporary expression. His work is crafted in silver, brass, copper, and semiprecious stones, often in collaboration with local silversmiths and artisans, including his son. Each piece is conceived as a bridge between past and present, carrying forward the richness of Balinese art and culture for a global audience.
Handcrafted in Indonesia from 18k gold-plated brass and cultured pearls, with a combination finish. The earrings are 1.3 inches in length by 0.4 inches in width and feature a hook closure.
