From Kolkata, India’s “City of Joy,” Rajnandinee and Srabonti founded their design studio in 2014 with a shared love for Bengali arts and crafts. Childhood influences shaped their path: Srabonti, inspired by her mother’s garment designs, studied needlework, while Rajnandinee, a self-taught artisan with a background in exporting, drew from nature and traditional craft. Together, they began creating scarves and handbags that quickly won admiration among friends and clients. Today, they work with a dedicated team of artisans and village weavers, focusing on natural fibers like silk and cotton. Each design requires patience and collaboration, balancing contemporary vision with heritage techniques. Through exhibitions, their own store, and their growing studio, Rajnandinee and Srabonti are committed to reviving Bengal’s craft traditions, creating opportunities for artisans, and presenting their region’s artistry to the world in elegant, modern forms.
