Eulalia Chonay, known as Eu, was born in Comalapa, Guatemala, a town alive with color, art, and tradition. From the age of ten, she learned weaving under the patient guidance of her mother, who instilled in her both skill and a deep appreciation for the beauty of textiles. After moving to Antigua Guatemala for her studies, Eu pursued her dream of transforming traditional techniques into contemporary handbags, often inspired by themes of environmental preservation. With limited resources but abundant determination, she built her craft into a livelihood that supports not only her own family but also artisans and seamstresses from her hometown. Together, they have formed a close-knit creative family committed to preserving Guatemala’s artistic heritage while creating sustainable opportunities. Each piece embodies her vision of textiles as symbols of resilience, community, and the vibrant spirit of Guatemalan culture.
Handcrafted in Guatemala from leather and cotton, this bracelet measures 6.5 inches inner circumference by 1.4 inches wide.
