The Persimmon Silver Ring by Sandrine B. magnifies one of nature’s easily overlooked details: the woody calyx that crowns a persimmon fruit. Taken from a persimmon bought in France, the calyx was molded so its folds and natural texture could be preserved through lost-wax casting, then paired with a hand-carved silver band. At approximately 48 mm wide, the resulting ring is intentionally dramatic, turning a small botanical fragment into a substantial sculptural statement. Each example retains natural variation, making the irregularity central to the design. It is a striking expression of Sandrine B.’s ability to reveal unexpected beauty in forms normally discarded.
