This one of a kind fishing net bangle by Sandrine B. transforms a reclaimed working fishing net into substantial recycled sterling silver through lost-wax casting. The original net was used by fishermen on the East or Gulf Coast of the United States, then recovered, cleaned and reshaped into a cuff before its texture was permanently captured in metal. That process turns an object associated with utility, labor and the sea into wearable art while preserving the memory of its original function. Weighing approximately 66.6 grams, the resulting bracelet has considerable physical presence and exists as a genuinely one-of-a-kind object rather than a standardized reproduction.
