These Mahal Dome Stud Earrings by Donatella Balsamo reinterpret the rounded architecture of Indian domed pavilions in a compact sculptural stud. A watermelon-carved gold-vermeil surface gives the circular form texture and depth, while a natural garnet cabochon sits in a bezel setting as a saturated focal point. The smooth stone contrasts with the worked metal and reinforces the heritage-rich character of the Mahal collection without making the design feel literal. At approximately 1.5cm in diameter, the studs have enough presence to stand alone, allowing the dome volume, carved finish and deep garnet colour to remain clearly visible.
