This AMAZONIA ORGANICA BLUE RING by Donatella Balsamo allows a teardrop blue chalcedony to retain its natural individuality through an uneven hand-cut form. Asymmetric gold prongs sit to either side rather than enclosing the gemstone in a strict bezel, reinforcing the organic inspiration and ensuring every stone appears slightly different. The luminous blue provides a calm centre against warm 18ct gold plating, while the dainty proportions make the design particularly easy to stack. It is a refined expression of the Amazon rainforest theme, shaped more by asymmetry and natural material than literal motifs.
