This Scattered Row Bracelet in Emerald by Kate Wood uses small faceted emeralds as points of saturated green along a delicate gold-vermeil chain. Rather than presenting a continuous gemstone strand, the bracelet embraces breathing space and irregularity, giving every bead room to register individually. The approximately 2–4mm stones catch the light through their cut surfaces while warm yellow metal deepens their color and gives the piece its quietly luxurious character. Handmade in Kate Wood’s Bristol studio, the bracelet reflects her preference for natural materials and apparently effortless balance, making it equally compelling alone or among finer gold chains.
Kate Wood makes contemporary beaded and chain work jewellery which is admired for its delicacy, intricately detailed finish and lightness of touch. The subtle, harmonious shapes of Kate's beaded designs take their cue from natural forms and textures, and incorporate her love of beautiful gemstones and vintage glamour. Each piece is meticulously constructed by hand from multiple tiny beads, which are wrapped and 'woven' onto chains with hand-made silver pins.
Faceted green emerald beads approximately 2–4mm; sterling silver with thick 22ct gold-vermeil plating as supplied; adjustable approximately 15–20cm; extension chain and lobster clasp; handmade in Bristol.
