This Pearl Drop Pendant Necklace by Kate Wood builds a miniature organic assemblage around a softly rounded baroque pearl. The central drop is accompanied by two smaller freshwater pearls and a cluster of hand-formed gold vermeil droplets, creating subtle contrasts of shape, scale and lustre. Nothing feels rigidly matched, which gives the pendant the natural, handcrafted quality at the heart of Kate Wood’s aesthetic. The larger pearl supplies a romantic focal point while the smaller details bring movement and tactile interest. Refined enough for bridal styling but deliberately easy to wear afterwards, the necklace works beautifully alone and can also be layered with finer chains for a more personal everyday composition.
Kate Wood makes contemporary beaded and chain work jewellery which is admired for its delicacy, intricately detailed finish and lightness of touch.
