These Droplet Column Earrings in Pearl and Gold Vermeil by Kate Wood turn molten metal texture into a delicate, elongated pearl composition. Each slender drop is formed by carefully torch-melting sterling-silver wire, creating an irregular organic surface before it is finished in a thick layer of 22ct gold. Tiny freshwater seed pearls are then scattered along the length, introducing soft points of ivory luster against the warm metal. At 5.5cm, the earrings have graceful movement and enough length to feel special, yet their narrow proportions keep them beautifully restrained. Romantic without being overly traditional, they transition effortlessly between relaxed bridal styling and more everyday, contemporary looks.
Kate Wood makes contemporary beaded and chain work jewellery which is admired for its delicacy, intricately detailed finish and lightness of touch. The subtle, harmonious shapes of Kate's beaded designs take their cue from natural forms and textures, and incorporate her love of beautiful gemstones and vintage glamour. Each piece is meticulously constructed by hand from multiple tiny beads, which are wrapped and 'woven' onto chains with hand-made silver pins.
Gold vermeil, sterling silver with a thick layer of 22ct gold plating, with freshwater seed pearls measuring approx. 1.5–2mm. Length: approx. 5.5cm from top of ear wire. Width: approx. 0.6cm. Handcrafted in Bristol.
