This The Amalur Fishes Bracelet by Shakti Ellenwood transforms the repeating scales and movement of fish into an intricate bracelet made entirely by hand from sustainable 18ct Fairmined gold. Each element is individually shaped and soldered using traditional goldsmithing techniques, giving the articulated piece the character of true studio fine jewelry rather than mass-produced chainwork. Shakti Ellenwood draws on Ancient Egyptian and wider historical symbolism, interpreting the fish through transformation, intuition, adaptability and abundance. The bracelet’s meaning is inseparable from its provenance: fully traceable gold supports artisanal mining communities, while the London-made craftsmanship turns each link into one of the designer’s “Little Gold Prayers.”
Shakti Ellenwood is a renowned designer of ethical jewellery, whose handcrafted creations offer a unique blend of beauty and integrity. Her earthy, organic designs fuse an ancient feel with a contemporary aesthetic, incorporating diverse influences including the sacred symbolism of amulets and talismans, the sentimentality of the Victorian era, folklore and ancient civilisations, as well as her own travels across the globe. Inspired by rituals from Egypt, India and the Amazon, Shakti crafts every design using sung mantras and icaros to imbue blessing and protection for its wearer – a prayer captured in gold.
