This Maya Cognac Diamond Engagement Ring by Shakti Ellenwood places a one-of-a-kind Botswana diamond sideways across the hand, giving the traditional pear shape an unexpected east-west orientation. The 1.2-carat rose-cut stone moves through espresso brown and golden amber tones, its broad facets producing a quieter glow than modern brilliant cutting. Six pale chocolate diamonds follow the softly hammered band, while hand-stamped marks frame the center and reinforce its artisanal character. Maya feels warm, earthy and entirely individual, particularly because natural differences within the central diamond cannot be replicated. It is an engagement ring built around personality rather than conventional ideas of flawless uniformity.
