This Blossom Bee Ethical Necklace by Shakti Ellenwood celebrates the bee through ancient goldsmithing methods and a deeply considered approach to ethical materials. Built entirely by hand from gold sheet and wire, the sculptural insect honours the tiny pollinators whose collective work supports ecosystems and food production around the world. Within the Animal Amulets Collection, the bee becomes a symbol of cooperation, community, purpose, and the power of collective action. Crafted from 18ct Fairmined gold, Blossom carries visible evidence of the maker’s hand rather than machine-perfect uniformity. Wear it alone on a delicate chain or add it to a more substantial talismanic arrangement as a reminder of interconnection and shared responsibility.
Shakti Ellenwood is a renowned designer of ethical jewellery, whose handcrafted creations offer a unique blend of beauty and integrity. Her earthy, organic designs fuse an ancient feel with a contemporary aesthetic, incorporating diverse influences including the sacred symbolism of amulets and talismans, the sentimentality of the Victorian era, folklore and ancient civilisations, as well as her own travels across the globe. Inspired by rituals from Egypt, India and the Amazon, Shakti crafts every design using sung mantras and icaros to imbue blessing and protection for its wearer – a prayer captured in gold.
Handmade in London using gold sheet and wire; 18ct Fairmined gold; bee approximately 14 mm high x 20 mm wide from wing to wing x 1.5 mm thick; pendant only.
