This La goutte serpentine long ring by Caroline Swolfs elongates the designer’s fluid drop into a sinuous form with the movement of a serpentine line. Its 14mm upper width provides noticeable presence, while the band contracts to 5mm at the back, allowing the larger silhouette to remain balanced on the hand. Curves rather than ornament define the design, capturing the sense of water finding its own path rather than being constrained by strict symmetry. The result feels sensual and sculptural without becoming overly elaborate. Within a collection devoted to the many possible lives of a drop, this is one of the more directional interpretations.
Caroline Swolfs is a well-known Belgian jewellery designer. Her line is artisanal, unique and very contemporary. At the end of the 90's, when Caroline created her logo, in the shape of a drop, the idea came to her to develop her new jewellery collections from a single source of inspiration: a simple drop. This became the anchor point of Caroline Swolfs' jewellery. The infinity of metamorphoses that such a simple form can undergo through the limitless imagination of the Belgian designer is a delight in motion.
