This La goutte oreinak ring by Caroline Swolfs gives the drop a compact, three-dimensional presence rather than stretching it broadly across the finger. The upper element measures 6mm in both width and height, creating a rounded focal point with almost equal vertical and horizontal volume, while the 5mm back retains a substantial feel around the entire ring. Its proportions make the form highly tactile and allow light to move across its curves from multiple angles. As with the wider Drop collection, the interest comes from the transformation of water into metal rather than applied decoration, giving the ring an understated but distinctly sculptural identity.
Caroline Swolfs is a well-known Belgian jewellery designer. Her line is artisanal, unique and very contemporary. At the end of the 90's, when Caroline created her logo, in the shape of a drop, the idea came to her to develop her new jewellery collections from a single source of inspiration: a simple drop. This became the anchor point of Caroline Swolfs' jewellery. The infinity of metamorphoses that such a simple form can undergo through the limitless imagination of the Belgian designer is a delight in motion.
