Zigleys is a trailblazing Black-owned brand revolutionizing hair adornment with luxury jewelry for locs, braids and twists. Founded by Daria Dana, the brand celebrates the cultural richness of these hairstyles through meticulously crafted accessories in solid 18-karat gold and diamonds. Handcrafted by skilled artisans in New York City, each Zigleys piece is made to order.
The idea began when Daria could not find high-quality hair jewelry that matched her standards. She questioned why hair — such an important part of identity and self-expression — should be adorned with disposable accessories rather than fine jewelry designed with the same care as jewelry for the body.
Zigleys uses recycled 18-karat gold and brilliant-cut diamonds sourced with attention to ethics and sustainability. The brand also draws inspiration from the legacy of African ancestors who adorned both body and hair with gold. As a Black woman-owned and operated business with a diverse team, Zigleys frames its work as part of a broader narrative around Black luxury, reclamation, representation and pride.
