Launched in 2009, OggDESIGN is founded on Béatrice Oggier's passion for gemstones. Currently based in Barcelona, each piece by OggDESIGN is delicately handmade under the curation of Béatrice at every stage: from the search and selection of gemstones, to the craftsmanship and finishing in the atelier. Characterised by colourful pieces, OggDESIGN encapsulates the wonderment held in the natural, precious beauty of gemstones and jewels.
OGGDESIGN has become more interesting to us the deeper we looked because Béatrice Oggier approaches a jewel as both a gemologist and a designer. Stones are selected for character and harmony, while CAD and 3D design are used to resolve proportion and structure before local artisans make the piece in Spain. That combination of technology and traditional craft is exactly how contemporary bespoke jewelry should work. We particularly love the transformation projects. Taking an inherited jewel apart, understanding why it mattered, and giving its materials a new life is infinitely more interesting than leaving sentimental jewelry unworn in a safe.
