Dovile Bertulyte makes jewellery that feels rough, free-spirited and wild while remaining fine and sophisticated. She thinks of her pieces as travel companions that can lead the imagination toward remote corners of the world, and she wants the jewelry to remind people how beautiful the planet can be.
Her work is inspired by rough natural forms and patterns encountered through travel — from meadows and valleys to mountain tops and ocean bottoms. Those references become vibrant colours, intricate patterns and tactile textures, turning each piece into a small, intimate wearable sculpture.
Dovile traces much of this connection with nature back to childhood summers in rural Lithuania, where she spent her time outdoors foraging, fishing and helping her grandparents in the fields. Each piece is individually hand-carved from wax, so small variations remain and individuality becomes part of the finished jewel rather than something engineered away.

There is something almost archaeological about Dovile Bertulyte's jewelry. The pieces often feel found rather than freshly manufactured, with surfaces and shapes that seem as though they already have a history. That gives them an immediate intimacy. What we particularly like is that the individuality does not make them difficult to wear. They settle into an existing jewelry wardrobe surprisingly naturally. Dovile is exactly the sort of independent designer we built Aureus to uncover: distinctive enough that someone asks about your ring, but personal enough that after a while it simply looks like yours.
