The Halloween heist is a beloved tradition that gets more elaborate each season. The best part about Jake using the fifth heist to propose to Amy is how it catches you completely by surprise. It’s brilliant, hilarious and wholesome, just like the two of them. It’s fitting that Boyle is the first to find out and his reaction represents all of us! Also, Jake saying that planning this heist is what got him through prison takes on a deeper meaning when you rewatch the episode.
3. Mitch & Cam – Modern Family
After gay marriage is legalized in California, both Mitch and Cam plan to propose. Mitch asks Claire to set up rocking chairs by the fireplace and Cam asks Gloria to recreate their first picnic under the stars. But on the way back home to these surprises, Mitch and Cam have a flat tire. When they kneel down to change it, they look at each other and no words are needed because they understand each other perfectly. They both say “Yes” and it’s so heartwarming!
4. Meredith & Derek – Grey’s Anatomy
Of all the iconic elevator moments in Grey’s Anatomy, this one will always be special. When Derek proposes to Meredith, he fills the elevator with CT scans of surgeries they have done together. He uses the images to trace the story of their relationship. It’s unique, meaningful and incredibly romantic because it shows how well he truly knows Meredith. 5. Jane & Rafael – Jane the Virgin
Rafael proposes to Jane while playing the traditional Mexican card game of Lotería with her family. He reads out the riddles and the answers all have special significance. “Mermaid” is the outfit Jane was wearing when they first saw each other. “Tree” is the spot where they first kissed. When Rafael reaches “Ring”, Jane exclaims she doesn’t have it - only to look up and see him holding a ring. It’s so simple, thoughtful and adorable it makes your heart melt.
