This Traditional Boruca Silver Pendant by Paula Solano is a powerful tribute to Costa Rica's rich cultural heritage. Inspired by the Boruca people, one of the few ancient civilizations to survive the passing of time, Paula creates this unique pendant to honor their legacy. The design is a miniature shield, a nod to the Boruca warriors, and the combination finish highlights the intricate details that evoke their famous masks. This pendant is a meaningful treasure, carrying the history and pride of a beloved culture and offering a deep connection to the enduring spirit of Costa Rica.
Costa Rican designer Paula Solano discovered jewelry making as a deeply personal calling that allows her to blend creativity with purpose. Entirely self-taught, she began by working with ceramics and silver, later mastering soldering and wax modeling to create sculptural pieces. Her designs range from glazed clay accented with silver to symbolic jewelry in three dimensions, always guided by passion and a dedication to craft. Solano has refined her skills through mentorships with master jewelers, combining the atelier tradition with her own exploratory spirit. Her work draws inspiration from universal themes — symbolism, magic, and transcendence — as well as the biodiversity of Costa Rica. For Solano, each piece is both art and treasure, carrying love and intention. Through her creations, she offers clients not only adornment, but also a connection to culture, meaning, and beauty.
Handcrafted from 950 silver, this pendant has a combination finish and measures 1.2 inches L x 0.9 inches W x 0.2 inches D.
