What FAQs to Include on Your Wedding Website

You’ve picked the date, the venue, and maybe even the menu. You’ve decided a wedding website makes sense - smart move. Now you’re staring at the FAQ section wondering what to include, what to skip, and how much detail is too much.

You’ve picked the date, the venue, and maybe even the menu. You’ve decided a wedding website makes sense - smart move. Now you’re staring at the FAQ section wondering what to include, what to skip, and how much detail is too much.

Here’s the truth: your FAQ page isn’t just a throwaway section. It’s one of the most useful parts of your entire site.

A solid FAQ page answers the questions you’re going to get over and over again. It saves you from repeating the same info in texts and emails. More importantly, it helps your guests feel prepared and relaxed, so they can show up and enjoy the day with you.

Let’s walk through what you should include - and why each question earns its place.

Where Is the Wedding and When Should I Arrive?

Even if the location and time are listed elsewhere, include it here too. People skim. They forget. Having it in your FAQs makes it easy to find quickly.

If your ceremony starts at 4 PM, mention when guests should aim to arrive. Ten to fifteen minutes early? Great. Put that in writing.

Bonus tip: if it’s a remote or hard-to-find venue, include parking instructions or note if the location is a bit of a walk from the parking lot.

What Are The Hotel Check In Details?

If you’re hosting a destination wedding or expect out-of-town guests, a quick run-down on check-in details is a huge help.

“Check-in at X Hotel begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you arrive early, the hotel will gladly store your luggage so you can explore until your room is ready.”

You can also include info about shuttle pickups, welcome bags at the front desk, or whether the hotel has breakfast, a pool, or on-site amenities worth knowing about.

Will There Be Transportation or Parking?

Are you offering a shuttle from the hotel? Is parking available at the venue? Do guests need to Uber?

Include details about pickup locations, times, or whether valet is available. If parking is limited, let them know early so they can plan ahead.

What Should I Wear?

Dress code questions come up constantly. Be clear. Be specific.

Instead of saying “semi-formal,” paint a picture. Will guests be walking on grass or sand? Should they prepare for chilly evening air or a formal indoor ballroom?

You might say, “The ceremony will be outdoors, so we recommend wedges or flats instead of heels,” or “Black tie optional means tuxes are great, but a dark suit works just as well.”

The more helpful you are here, the more confident your guests will feel showing up.

Are Kids Invited?

It can feel awkward to address, but this one matters. Be kind, but direct.

If you're having an adults-only celebration, say so gently:
“While we love your little ones, we’re keeping the celebration adults-only so parents can kick back and enjoy the evening.”

If kids are welcome, let people know who’s invited, and whether there will be special meals, seating, or entertainment for them.

Guests with children will really appreciate the clarity.

Can I Bring a Plus-One?

This is one of the most common (and most uncomfortable) questions couples get. Use your FAQ section to set the tone and remove the guesswork.

“If your invitation included a guest’s name, we’d love for them to join! Otherwise, we’re keeping things intimate and kindly ask that you attend solo.”

Clear boundaries delivered with warmth can go a long way.

Are You Registered Anywhere?

Even if your registry is linked elsewhere on the site, a quick mention here helps.

You can keep it simple: “We’re registered at [Store Name], and you can find all the details on our Registry page.”
If you're skipping traditional gifts in favor of a honeymoon fund or donation, let guests know here too.

What’s the Weather Like This Time of Year?

If you’re getting married somewhere unfamiliar, help guests pack appropriately.

“October evenings in the mountains can get chilly - we recommend bringing a jacket,” or “Summer afternoons here are hot and sunny, so sunglasses and SPF are your best friends.”

Even a quick weather overview helps guests feel more prepared and comfortable.

Anything Else I Should Know?

This is your wildcard section. Use it for anything unique to your wedding.

Having an unplugged ceremony? Mention it here. Planning a late-night taco truck? Absolutely worth a shout-out. Need guests to bring something, like a jacket, flashlight, or photo for a guest book? This is the place.

If there’s something you’ve gotten more than one text about - it probably belongs here.

A Final Word on Wedding Website FAQs

The best FAQ sections are thoughtful without being overwhelming. Keep the tone warm. Be clear, not formal. Write like you’re talking to a friend who just wants to show up and celebrate you without messing anything up.

Give them what they need to feel confident. And give yourself the peace of mind that the details are already handled.

You’ve got enough going on. Let the FAQ page take care of the rest!
